Pelosi, Obama and Cheney

All three of these folks have had plenty to say lately. And I'm sure you will think it amazing to find that the only one that makes any sense is former Vice President Dick Cheney. Thank God for people like Dick Cheney and George Bush. They were willing to do things that these liberal sissies find abhorrent. What do they know anyway. All they have to do is remember back to the days of Jimmy Carter to realize that the touchy-feely way will not get you anywhere with these zealots. So they got their faces wet and had to stay up late, big deal. Los Angeles still has it's skyline intact. I'd call that a fair trade.

I noticed today that Nancy Pelosi held another press conference. She didn't come alone either. She needed to have the rest of the Democratic congressional big shots with her. I noticed that she wouldn't answer any questions concerning her comments about the CIA lying to her and to Congress, "All the time" or anything else of substance. Let me get this straight. Nancy Pelosi does not want to have people lose sleep or get wet and have their day in an American court with all the rights and privileges of normal criminals, but is willing to condemn the entire CIA and brand them as criminals (since lying to congress is a federal crime) without bringing anything to the table to back up her claim? I think I got it right. I'm glad Leon Panetta stood up and said what he did. Madam Speaker, I think it's time to put up or shut up. Better yet just admit that you were speaking without thinking, again, and apologize. Then maybe people will stop calling for your political head. The only reason I don't want you to step down is you give us conservatives all the material to ridicule you.

As for you Mr. President, I bet you don't read this, but just in case you do, maybe, just maybe, you should reconsider closing Gitmo. Far away from the folks they want to destroy is better than having them here, don't you think. Besides, the best argument for that now is the case of the four home grown radicals arrested in New York this week after purchasing what they thought were explosives and a Stinger missile. From what I hear they all converted to Islam in the state prison system. Think about it.

Mr. Obama and Ms. Pelosi, I hope you don't lose any sleep in the coming nights. After all I wouldn't want you to consider your jobs to be torture.

Hateful People

I'm sure by now that everyone has heard the mindless drivel spewing forth from the mouth of Janeane Garofalo. I'm not sure if I have spelled her name correctly, nor do I care. She thinks that everyone that attended a tea party is a racist. I will concede that there are some in this country that are still closed minded and bigoted. But the words always and never should not be used when describing a group's action because absolutes are almost impossible to prove. So she knows that what she says it inaccurate and yet she continues.

She was spotted in Boston the other day and approached by folks from the Fox News Channel I believe and again just ran her mouth without thinking. Her argument was that she did see a couple of questionable signs and immediately assumed that all in attendance agreed with that sign. Another argument she uses is why wasn't everyone protesting for the last eight years when President Bush was helping to create the deficit.

I have addressed the first issue in a previous paragraph, now I will tackle the second. I would wager that quite a few people have been troubled by the way the government spends our tax dollars for a long time. I know I have. The thing now is that the amount of money being spent is unfathomable. I know I can't wrap my head around $780 billion dollars. And that's just one bill that he signed. How about the billions given to the banks and the auto industry. I realize that the government had given out $700 billion to the banks just before the first of the year, but how much more can we give? Then the money to the auto industry and still GM had to declare bankruptcy. That didn't turn out to be such a good investment did it? The banks and the auto industry brought this on themselves through pure greed. Why should we as tax paying citizens have to pay for their mistakes?

Do I think that reducing the debt by half in the next four years is a good thing? Of course I do. I have not heard anyone say different. But with the amount of money going out, how in the hell does the government think it can recoup enough to pay down the deficit? The only way I can think of is by taxing the hell out of the things we use on a daily basis.

Then I hear Joe Biden telling a group of schoolchildren that the government is going to pay for them to go to college if their families don't have the money. When does it end? Between universal health care, the bank and auto bailouts, helping people pay their mortgages when they bought too much house and extending unemployment will be broke before we know it. Even before we know it.

All this will accomplish is lowering the standard of living for the middle class. Which by the way is the class that goes to work and pays their fair share of taxes. Only to give to those who will not do for themselves a bigger piece of the pie.

That is socialism.
